Just got a call from this [***] and he said the same story to me about my brother. Said he was a paramedic and that he was holding my brother hostage for the car accident thing. Same fight, needs stitches on the head and that his niece got hurt so my brother must pay for it. He doesn't let you talk to them or anything so it started to get fishy at that point. After having my husband call them to make sure they're ok, the call was ended. Very intense call, they don't let you think. Hope someone catches these extortionists.
Same thing happened to me today. Claimed he was an off-duty paramedic and there was a car accident involving his own brother/3 year old niece. Repeatedly referred to me as "mama" and had a very thick Hispanic accent. He identified my brother's car correctly which was strange. The niece was in critical condition and in the hospital and they needed money to pay the bill. A fight broke out at the accident and my brother had been shot in the head and was tied up in a bathroom in an apartment. There was screaming in the background and they were yelling my name. Told me to meet them at Florida Hospital as my brother needed immediate care so he did not bleed out. I told him I didn't have any money so he asked if I had jewelry and told me to pawn it because they needed $1000 or they were going to kill my brother. Thankfully, a personal friend is a police officer and informed me of the scam and instructed me to tell him to "go f*ck himself" at which point he became irate and told me he was going to find me and kill me. The call lasted 20 minutes.
I hope karma comes back for these pieces of trash.
Argh! Thank goodness for this website because I was in a complete panic. Got a call from this number, guy says he is a paramedic and there's been a car accident. The victim had my number as his emergency contact but is unconcious and they don't know his name. They are getting ready to transport him to the hospital. The car he described isn't one I know but the description of the victim kinda sorta could be my ex-husband. Caller says they are taking him to the hospital and will call me back. I call/text the ex and get no response. Panic!! Then I look up the number and get this info. OMG, who the hell does this?? I wanna choke this guy. And the freakin' ex needs to call me back to let me know he's okay. I am physically ill. This is the definition of evil. I guess I asked too many questions for him to try to get money outta me. Ugh.
