Received call advising won a trip to Disneyland in Florida. Caller had date of birth and email address. Would not forward me to a supervisor, kept saying I signed up and the computer automatically dialed number for him, however, I did NOT sign up for any such thing. Would like to block calls from this caller.
Same as snowman, got a call from this number telling me I won this huge trip to Disney, they had my DOB and Email. Didn't tell me his name, told me I signed up for this. I told him I didn't and I wanted to know what site I signed up for this with. He laughed and told me the Disney site, I stated I had never been on the Disney site, he then said it must of been an affiliated website but could not tell me which one. He asked me for a drivers license, I told him I didn't have one and he because asking me if I could bring someone with me. I told him no and he started getting pushy asking me if I had a friend or family member who could come with me, I told him no and that I did not have time for a vacation, he then said "It's a luxurious vacation at Disney and Daytona beach and a round trip cruise, I just need a Major Credit Card." I told him I wasn't comfortable giving this information out and hung up on him. I then emailed Disney with all of the details of this phone call.
same same... they said i had won trip to Disney and Cancun for a week for two. They had all my details (address, phone, and part of credit card), and said they just needed the expiry date on credit card to charge a mere two hundred and something dollars for taxes or something.
very elaborate scam, transferred three times to different people to make it sound legitimate.
they kept insisting they are a multi-million dollar company and there was no need to worry about security and my credit card number.....
lots of garbage going on these days. some other a-holes recently managed to steal my credit card number and immediately started buying guns. That's all we need, more guns out there in light of what has just happened....and with my credit card!!!!!!!
