Report it to police. Go in person. Print out a copy of this thread and take it with you. If enough people complain the police can at least have a press conference warning the public about this scam. If that doesn't work. Go to the media directly.
caller claimed to be paramedic. Said my name was listed as an emergency contact on the phone of an accident victim. He asked me to describe the car my son drives and my sons name. He then said my son was injured and had killed a 17 year old on a motorcycle. Then he told me he was the 17 year olds father, that he had kidnapped my son from the accident scene and said he had a gun to his head and would shoot him if I didn't give him $4000.00. My husband called the caller a few choice words and hung up on him. I called my son and he was home watching TV! There are some sick people out there! Be careful!
Just got this call. Scared me enormously! Same story. EMT on scene, female is bleeding and unconscious but can't ID her. What does your wife drive? How about your mother? I was sure it was real until the kidnapping portion. I used the Find My Friends app to locate my wife while he was still on the line. I hung up and verified she was ok. I have a headache right now.
Caller said he was paramedics at the scene of an accident that my boyfriend or husband may have been involved in. Said officer was processing his identification and asked for his name to confirm. Told me that he ran over a 17-year-old minor on a motorcycle and then admitted that he wasn't the paramedics and was in fact the girl's uncle. Went on to say that he and his brother had my bf held hostage in an apartment and had messed him up pretty bad by beating him over the head with a gun and other things. Also that he had lost a lot of blood and was unconscious and needed medical attention immediately. He told me that if I hung up the phone or called the cops they would kill him. Made me beep the horn in my car so that he knew I was on the way to a local Walgreen's. Once I got to the Walgreen's I was to purchase an I-go phone card and put money on it. At that point I demanded to hear his voice and we got into an argument. Guy was extremely vulgar to me and the argument escalated. At that point I heard 3 gunshots and he hung up. Immediately called 911 and together we contacted my bf at work to learn that it was in fact a scam. So glad I demanded to hear his voice before I gave this sick f*ck any money! Please share with everyone you know. He was so intimating.
