Looks like this guy is at it again. Called our church using the name Jerry Stevens, lives in Canby, OR & gave an address; said he was at our chruch about 6 weeks ago; mother (Mary Ann Stevens) was killed by a drunk driver, he had her ashes but car broke down & needed bus fare for him, his wife & daughter Jessica to get back to Canby & oh by the way he would love to have a memorial service at our church.
From "Scott", who said he and his wife "Rachel" visited our services a few months ago and was moving from Florida to our area. Said his mom was killed by a drunk driver, and he was traveling from Florida. Car broke down, wanted money.
Received a call recorded on our church answering system from a man leaving this number and requesting a call back. He spoke very rapidly and unintelligibly. Sounded like a telemarketer, so we deleted the message and followed up with a Google search of the number leading us here.
"Scott" called my cell and left message to call him back concerning a death. When I called him back he said that he and his wife Mary Ann and two children Jessica and Denise had visited our church within the last month and had moved to Lynchburg, VA. He referred to themselves as a young family with the last name "Korhen". When I indicated we had not had anyone visit our church that matched his description he hung up. I did a reverse number search and the number is a land line from Orlando, Florida.
Retrieved a message from our voicemail from "Scott" asking the Pastor to call him at 407-692-5523 concerning a death. Our pastor did not know anyone at that number or in the 407 area code (which is the Florida area) by the name of Scott. Then I decided to Google the number and ran across this site. Upon seeing your posts, I have concluded that this is not a valid call and will not pursue the matter further, unless he calls back.
