Who called from 4077375221

Pretty much the same as everyone else is reporting.  As my Dad once taught me, "Trust No One"!...........Came in from Florida, asking for anyone at this number to return the call.

See the postings at the OTHER phone number these scammers use, 866-218-3883. If you're on the Do Not Call Registry, file a complaint. Also email a complaint to your Attorney General & the Federal Trade Commission. These crooks need to be stopped, so take action to help stop these calls.

We received a call from them in NC, I answered. They had a recorded message saying thank you for your patience while our associates are assisting other customers. then someone picked up, coughed into the phone and hung up. VERY RUDE!

I've finally figured this one out. The excuse for these calls is usually a long-ago, fictitious "debt". This is to get around the "DO NOT CALL" law, which DOES allow calls from debt collectors. When you tell them that (a) you aren't the person they're looking for,  or (b) you don't owe that money, they then ask you to "verify" your name, Social Security number, address and in some cases, your bank account number!  So the REAL GOAL OF THESE CALLS IS TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY. This is evidently a nation-wide, ongoing scam. Report it to your telephone company, the FTC, the Do Not Call Registry (if you're on that list) and your state's Attorney General. These thieves identify themselves as agents of OCWEN. Whether that's true or not is unknown.

This recorded message has been calling my house for months, only in the last couple of weeks has the Caller ID been showing "OCWEN FINANCE"
