This deal works like so:
They call you, they qualify you, they pass you onto their approval agent who then goes over the vague plans that they offer, then if you still are with them on the program, they get your info for a call back for later that day.
The call back is their BITE - they want to offer you the help of a qualified attorney for your mortgage deal and it "will only cost you $495 if you do it today and let them bill you the remaining $1,000 later on in 2 payments - OR - you can pay $995 today and that will be all you pay, your choice".
From there they just pressure you for a card number or to get a Green Dot pre-paid cash card to give them.
Nothing but a SCAM.
Federal Law in the USA says that you DO NOT pay ANY UPFRONT fees for mortgage modification or any mortgage 'rescue services' until YOU and YOUR MORTGAGE company have an acceptable deal IN WRITING FIRST.
The twist on this deal is that 'Habib' tries to say that this $495 is because your case may be referred to an attorney and that the fee is for the attorney to review your case.
It's all BS! None of these scammers has EVER provided State Bar information that actually has panned out to be from a REAL attorney. I don't know of any US attorneys who live and work in India just to work on Mortgage mods here in the USA.
This number called me, and after looking up their number on the internet, I immediately told them, before I gave them a chance to say anything, to not call me back that they were a scammer and I hung up the phone. Hopefully they will not call back. This should be illegal and should be stopped from scamming innocent people, as I have already been taken once by another company in Florida, supposedly getting me a loan modification on my mortgage, which never, BTW, happened. I was just out $1995., which I never recovered even after contacting the BBB in Florida and also the Attorney Generals office in Fl. They were no help to me either. No one wants to help. Everyone is just out to steal your hard earned money and leave you hanging. This country has come to be a horrible place to live. FREE, I beg to differ. We are monitored all the time and we don't seem to have any rights as citizens anymore in this great USA.....
Robo call for loan mod - Best Family Consultants 323-319-3106 www.bestfamilyconsultants.com, of course they use GoDaddy to hide their web registrar. Gave me false address in Walnut CA, and they too want $1,495 in 3 steps, $495 now, $500/mo x 2. Upfront loan mod fees are illegal in CA, attorney or no attorney.

Automated call left on my voice mail offering free help for mortgage modification to reduce my monthly payments and interest rates regardless of credit history or if in foreclosure. I called the number 407-745-1618 and got a foreigner representing Best Family Consultants. I hung up immediately and googled the number above and have read these posts. I want to thank each of you who have written a post in this regard to curtail the scammers from taking advantage of innocent people with legitimate need for modification.
Just got the call and let it go to voice mail...then, called to have them delete me from the calling list...I called and Eric answered, and said he would.....sounds like a scam...I wouldn't give any info...
