I recieved a call from this same number claiming to be Sherif Officer Steve Cooper with the Orange County Florida Sherif Department State. He has a heavy Indian accent with a background that sounds like he calling from a warehouse somewhere out there reading off this message is intended for __________. reads a civil case number off of my ss# and that i need to call him back at 407-777-0876 something to do with arrest warrant. I called the Orange County Florida Sherif Department and i was told that it is a SCAM! they did not have anyone logged on by this name. She told me not to worry do not call that number back. I've filed a police report with the city i live in, and also the city that i work in.
A guy with a strong Indian accent keeps calling my place of work stating that if I dont call with in the next 48 hours someone will be showing up with a subpeona and I could go to jail. This has been ocuring for the last 3 weeks. He states he is from American Law Enforcement.
Posting your phone number on a public bulletin board was not wise. Thieves and scammers read here. Other scammers use bot programs to harvest phone numbers. You will get lots of scam and spam calls.
Have been getting calls from this number for over a year, usually an Indian accent, asking for an employee that has not worked for our agency in over seven years!!! Will not quit calling, even though we have explained the employee can not be reached at our number. They threatened legal action, saying a police officer is coming to arrest me, called our receptionist horrible names, have even called 6 or 8 times in one day. This is definitely a scam... some sort of second party bill collector. I just put them on hold now until they hang up. Looking for ways to permanently block the number.
