This is an ongoing scam which appears to originate in Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic. It seems to be striking the northeast section of the US. I would definitely go to the police and make a report. They may not immediately be able to find the people making the calls but they can go to the media and let people in the local community know what's happening and that people should be on the lookout for this scam. Yes, by all means make a police report. But, go in person. Don't try to phone it it in, because the person on the line will simply say something to the effect that it's a scam and just forget about it. You need a paper report. And your local LE needs to go to the media. They will, if enough people complaint.
i lost my mom a week ago and just got a call today on my way home stating the same thing about my husband. My world started crumbling around me and I believe God took my hand and hung up. I called my husband and he is alive and well. I just can't believe someone would do this type of thing!
Call me with the same stuff about emergency and critical conditions of my family member. But he could not figure out who exactly was in critical conditions. After I told him that he was calling the wrong number, he hanged up. His number is (407)782-8615
Again, exactly the same words today April 10 at 3:51. Said he was NOT an EMT but was a Paramedic, and additionally emphasized he "was not a police officer". Could not provide a name of the "unconscious person", nor could he verify the kind of car other than to state it was a Nissan or a Honda. Funny, after years of practicing medicine in a level 2 trauma center.... none of this rang true. SCAM brewing... or a simple psycho?!?
