I agree, they are really just looking for stuff they can resell for a profit. I doubt that much of anything gets to those who really need it. We have a local Goodwill Store where I can just drop off donations. At least I know they are helping my community.
This is a call from Charity Clothing Pickup in the Orlando, FL area. If you have clothing donations, they will schedule a pickup @ your home. Too bad they don't identify themselves as such or leave a message. Charity Clothing Pickup might get more call backs if not at the time of the call, at the time clothing is available for donation.

This charity FOR-PROFIT corporation donates a very small percentage of the money they make to a charity. I have so many clients that think they can get a write-off on what they donate. The problem is the IRS is aware of this scam and will only let you deduct a few cents per pound for your donations. Don't fall for this scheme. Instead, donate your used stuff to the Salvation Army, Goodwill, and other local charities.
No. Thanks. I'd rather drive donations to the Salvation Army or Goodwill where I know it will be used to help the needy. Not to line the pocket of a company that takes 70-90% of the profits for itself. You are now permanently BLOCKED.
I wonder if these are the scammers that identified themselves as "Merchandise PIC" that, although I blocked them after the first call, continues to call EVERY DAY for about 6 months? And they wonder why we despise unsolicited televermin, and why they should all rot in hell.
