For the past three days I have received calls from this number several times a day. I am on the do not call list for telemarketing, but I do get break thru calls sometimes.
The calls from this number were coming several times a day, and no messages were left and when I did answer one time it was dead air. I just now got off a call with someone who said they were calling to solicit funds for homeless veterans.
What concerns me about these calls is that when you call this number back it states that you have reached a number that has been *Disconnected*. This should be investigated for ** FRAUD ** I love and support our Vets and no one should be trying to steal money from people in their names!
Some guy called me by a nickname I don't even go by, but is related to my name.
Since I wouldn't confirm who I was without him first confirming who he is (which is a great practice, because bill collectors and such need to verify that they are speaking to a specific person), he claimed that my phone was echoing and he hung up.
When someone asks your name, ALWAYS first ask, "who is this"? If they don't answer, just keep repeating it.
Not sure who it is, but they're blocked now. Too bad they wouldn't tell me who they were. Oh well. Not my problem. :)
Calls never leaves a message but when these types do call, Just keep saying ,State your business for this call. If they say one word other then, who, why, and what their calling for. Click EM.
Called and didn't say anything when I answered, then they hung up. In a way, best kind of call... I suspect that it's a credit or marketing company and their plan goes like this: the company calls with an out of state number and when you answer - they have their answer: YOUR HOME! Then comes the local call, knowing your home, and then they got ya! Just a theory.
Call from this number on Tue., Sep.09.2014 @ 3:30 pm Mountain. Caller ID displays "FLORIDA". Did not answer - no message left. Added to blocked numbers.
