Just called saying they're going to be in my area and giving away free GE wireless phones or something, some pitch about how thieves cut wired landlines to steal stuff or something, I tuned out and told him I was on an IP phone and apologized and hung up. Not sure what it's about but had a few flags telling me it's some sort of scam.

Of course it's a scam. If it were a legitimate business, they wouldn't be concealing their ID, would they? Just the same old scammers with a new number. You block one, they come right back with another one. It never ends. Get a call blocker - life will be good again.
