SCAM They call in the middle of the night claiming to be a random bank in hopes that you have an account and tell you that there is someone making a large purchase on your account and you need to verify it. When you say that it is not you, they "require" the account information to ensure you are who you say you are. If the person is dumb enough to give it to them, they indicate that the purchase was stopped and they will be sending out new cards immediately. It is a nice touch to get the person to not worry until the next day. By the time the mark wakes up the next morning their account is empty. No I did not fall for it, yes they are using a wardialer/recording my neighbors number is a couple digits off from mine and he got the call a little later the same night.

Call came in at 0230. Something like there has been a third party change on you second national bank card please press one to contuniue. I hung up the phone after that. It also came in on my cell number
received the call at 11:22 pm but guess what, we were in bed sleeping.
Although the call woke us up, we didn't pick up and the machine got it.
The next day when I went to work, people at work were talking about this type of call but nobody had responded with any personal information. The caller never did indicate what bank they were calling from or what business.
