Caller claimed that they are giving me "verbal" notification" of the action that the Dpt. of Legal Affairs from the US Treasury will be starting on a very important issue. The call was for my daughter who has been out of the house for almost five years. They also used her maiden name. From the background noise it sounded like a call center. Beware scammers are always trying new things
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Recieved a message very similar to the first report. "David Miller" says I will be in a legal "mess" if I don't call him back, the US Department of Treasury Legal affairs office. Sounds fishy to me!
