Received 2 voicemail messages on 1/28/2015 from this number, at 11AM and again at 1PM. The messages were identical - sounded like a recording. Speaker identified himself as Steve Martin, had a "British" accent and stated that this was an "enforcement action executed by the US Treasury." Said it would be considered a 2nd attempt to contact and failure to return the call would be considered an attempt to "avoid appearance before a magistrate judge or grand jury for a criminal offence." Ended with "let us help you."
THIS IS A SCAM. There is no IRS office in the San Jose area - I checked the US Treasury website. Also, the speaker never named the intended recipient of the call. I checked the US Treasury website and it noted that first contact would not be made by phone or e-mail. see: http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml to report fraudulent contact, and http://www.irs.gov/uac/Tax-Scams-Consumer-Alerts for updates on tax scams. Finally, I found the phone number 408-372-5343 on another site with the comment:
"Richard Harris Claims to be with US Treasury Warning of arrest warrant issued for unpaid 2012 taxes."

Same as below but I heard the name as Keith Martin. I am going to call him from a work number and see what other information I can get out of him. Then I'm going to report him as the number he called is on the no-call list.
Similar to situation that "Not Buying It" reported, but I picked up to hear a recorded message. I'm in the 310 area code. From news reports, I knew immediately it was a scam. Not to worry . . . I filed a report with the FCC at their website the same day as I received the call (yesterday).
I hope they can track back to the scammer based on this phone number and deal with him/her appropriately.
