Hello..Just picked up a call from a woman asking for me by my first name and I could hear in the backround a lot of other voices and phones ringing. She waited to speak until she could hear me say Hello twice..I then asked her what she wanted since she was asking for me and I am on the Do Not Call List and she sighed, started talking over me saying she represented "Silicon Valley Racers" and would take my name/number off the list. I hung up and thought "Racers?" It must be a voting thing and I expect plenty more of these calls until the election is over in Nov.
As the communications coordinator for Working Partnerships USA, a nonprofit in San Jose, California that builds partnerships with community, labor and faith groups to improve the lives of working families in Silicon Valley, let me say we are sorry that people have been inconvenienced by calls from this number.
This number does not belong to us, and we have contacted AT&T about the misuse of our name in connection with these calls.
Members of our staff have also received calls from this number and I have called it myself, getting an answering machine.
When we get more information from the phone company about this number, we will post it on this bulletin board.
