I can't verify the phone number, as we do not have caller id, but the man on the line identified himself as belonging to General Home Design. I asked him where they were located, and he said, "On Main street, across from the fire station." I said the bay area was one city after another from San Jose to Santa Rosa, what city were they in? And he wouldn't say, he said they would come to me wherever I was. Then I asked him if they had checked the Do Not Call list, and he said I was supposed to notify him that I didn't want a telemarketing call within the first 15 seconds. Where he got that from, I don't know. Telemarketers are supposed to consult the Do Not Call list and refrain from calling numbers on it, it's their responsibility to do that, not mine to tell them. Anyway, he hung up and I filled out a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. (Someone referred to the FCC---It's the FTC, not the FCC.) If this happens to you, please file a complaint with the FTC (google on it).
Call from this number almost every day. Today when I answered there was only silence, so I waited it out and then a recorded voice said, " good-bye ". I hit re-dial it went straight to a recording, which stated that my call was very importanant and to please stay on the line...so I did! A very inaudible male voice said " hello ", I stated I had just received a call from that number, I'm on a do not call list gave my number to the man and nicely aked not to be called again.----Yes, this time nice---let's hope there is never another call, nice is then out the window!
Got a call from them today. They claim to be General Home Design, 408-837-9030. My number is on the Federal DO NOT CALL list. I'm getting tired of companies ignoring the list, calling me and then tell me that I have to tell THEM that I do not want their calls. That is not how it is supposed to work... Can I see my tax dollars at work and have someone go after these clowns ?
Caller ID says, "Campbell, CA". Caller left no message. Probably a telemarketer. I do not answer calls from unfamiliar numbers. I have just blocked the number.

Yeah, no kidding. We may be home owners and perhaps some of our information is public, however, we have the RIGHT not to be bothered with these phone calls. If we want work done, WE do the calling and we would ONLY hire someone in our LOCAL area code. These businesses need to RESPECT the Do Not Call List - I have entered a complaint at the FTC page.
