He tells a tale of being a Petrol Engineer on an oil rig in the North Sea. Became ill and didn't have the money for the helicopter to pick him up and take him to Scotland. Once in Scotland he couldn't leave because he had to pay taxes on the money he earned on the rig. He even sent me a scanned image of a passport, work contract from "Shell", and a copy of a check for $750,000 which he said was his pay for the work he did and a receipt from the helicopter transport. Going by the name Luca Donovan with a son Derick. Says his ex-wife cheated on him and got into drugs. Says his mother watches Derick when he travels. Met him on Match.com He knows what buttons to push. Don't fall for it like I did. I feel like a fool because I do know better then this. The other phone number he uses is 630-489-9130. Search that number on this sight and you will find hundreds of similar stories from this thief.
He contacted me and something was not right, so I looked his number up. So glad I read this post. I was scammed before, so very untrusting. He said he was in Scotland for work for 2 weeks and lives at Pebble Beach and has a 9 yr old daughter. He said he moved from Texas. Said his name is David Donovan. Beware
In an online dating scam: If you cannot verify the identity of the person you are talking with - run! You will notice a common element in these scams. They are always on 'an oil rig', 'out at sea', 'a remote research station, 'an African mine'. It's always somewhere you can't just pick up the phone & call the company they work for. The next element is, of course, money. Somewhere along the way there is a 'problem'. They need instant cash & can you 'help them out'. Be aware these con artists do this for a living & they are VERY good at it. If you study the small details the scam becomes very obvious.

People should be careful about some of the stories posted here. this is a good site to help people but not all stories are true, some just try to blackmail people. I also have your pictures and document and all the true conversations we share. This number is from a innocent man and the person is a victim.. You will hear from my lawyer soon!
I too have been scammed by this person, met on a dating site and within a few days asked me to move to messenger. Seems kind and genuine but within in a few days of speaking started calling me babe, I should of known then. Also asked what I thought of money in relationships. He was on a ship in Scotland and there was an explosion, where his "employees" were injured and needed money to get them out. Then was stuck in another country and had to pay taxes for a check he didn't claim, did jail time and needs money to pay the government back before he can leave. Now we have a sick child whose in the hospital. He is amazingly good at preying on your emotions and telling you that you are the one and that God will bless you and that he loves you. Please be careful! The pictures he uses are not his own. He is a charmer and always remembers the conversations we had. Never had a phone where his camera worked but always wanted to see me....creepy!!! Very manipulative, showed many emotions towards me which made it seemed believable. Shuts down when he doesn't get his way. He promises to pay you back and be home soon as soon as he takes care of his business and debts. He is using many scams and making a lot of money doing this, please be careful and do not sent him any $$$$!!!! Please respond if you have had a similar experience.
