Received a call on my work number. Man says his name is Mark Brown but he is really East Indian. said he was calling from the Sunnyvale State County Courthouse and needed to hear from me or my attorney or I would be arrested. I was hammered with similar calls a few months ago and ended up changing my cell number. My employer has had to get our IT department to block the numbers. Here we go again!
This number was left in an email asking me to call and give all my personal info (ssn, full name, address, car, children, and even pets) in order to rent a house in San Jose. Going by the name John W. Piper, he left an extremely long email explaining why he wasn't in town to show the house and needed to do everything through the mail. Mentioned how he had an agent helping him sell it but decided against it and to ignore the sign outside of the house. Also, he wants to rent the house to someone who will care for it. Hahaha! Nice try [***].

This guy move on into a real estate scam now. Just got a job in San Jose and looking for a place. Find an ad in craigslist and this Indian guy call me and told me that I can have the house and all I had to do is send him my depsit. I told him that I was scammed that way before and I was going to a further investigation. I went to the house, sure enough that someone living there. I call the guy back for ammusement, he told me that those people are there to make it so the house doesn't appears abandoned. He even have someone dumpedoff a bag of mail on the porch that is belong to him. And he demanded half of deposit instead. I told him nope.
They ran an add for a house for rent very cheap. 3br for 1,000. sounded too good to be true so I checked phone number online and found all this. They ask you to fill out renters history and give references and wire money via western union to hold place. So glad there are sites like this to keep up with the scammers.Claimed to be
