A new harassing morning call, 4085552177, whatever, they use different harassing call no. 8444853204/4157552820/8559746088/5109623051/5109623040, all of them not safe, they just ask money, bank information
Received a call yesterday and again today from this number (408)555-2525. CID : DIR ASST CA. Both times my answering machine picked up the call and both times no message was left. I would think this is a spoofed number because Directory Assistance does not initiate calls or repeatedly call people... I added it to the Block List on my phone.
I wish "Scammer" or "Phishing" would be added as a choice for Call Type.
Received a call from this number and since I thought all 555-prefix numbers are fake (mistakenly), I forced it to voicemail. Recorder caught the tail end of some automated message saying press some key to send voicemail. For many years, any 555-xxxx number was considered fictional since that exchange was reserved for Directory Assistance (i.e., 555-1212). It now appears that some 555 numbers are being handed out:
I got a call from this number just now. The caller identified himself as 'Mark' from some heating company (I didn't catch the name). He knew my name. He said he had come out and checked our heater in 2011. Said he'd checked the ductwork. I said I didn't recall that. He said they were running a 3-1 promotion on heater servicing. I asked what his records said about our heater. He said that it showed we had central heating and a thermostat. I said that info was wrong. He then laughed and hung up.
