I have been receiving calls from 408-610-8901-wireless caller. The number started to look familiar after awhile.  I never answer, it always goes to voicemail and they have never left a message. A few weeks ago I decided to let the calls accumulate on my phone caller ID and I counted, I received 11 calls in 2 weeks from this caller at random times, never a message. It is harassing. I have re-registered on the National Do Not Call Registry 2 days ago. I will see if it helps.

You do not have to do a re-register. All you do is get 30 days of calls added to your number for legitimate business numbers to call you on top of the illegal callers ! The DNC is permanent - once on, its there until you remove it!

The DNC is not a call blocker, it can not protect you from foreign country's, scammers, frauds and illegal callers. Charity, some survey, political calls are exempt from the DNC though they can get into trouble if they do not place you on their internal DNC when asked. Debt Collections fall under the FCRA/FDCPA laws.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

Report your callers here, not just to the DNC alone:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.
