I got a call from this number earlier today. At first, it was a woman who answered the phone, and when I immediately got hostile (this company has called from various numbers multiple times in the last couple days), she transferred the phone to a man, who said he was from The FBI. I instantly asked for his name and badge number, and he would've give me any of that.
I have gotten almost 20 calls from about 9 different numbers over the last 3 hours from all over the country. I have attempted to answer just a couple of them in order to tell them to permanently delete my number. This is the only one I answered where there was an actual human being on the other line. Extremely thick accent which I could barely understand, never identified himself or the name of the business, didn't say much, but at the tail end of his spiel, I understood "...this is $134.xx per week. Is this all right?" I replied "No, and you need to remove..." and he hung up. From all of the other numbers that have called me today, I have looked them up on this website and they are all scam pre-paid "payday loans" which are HIGHLY illegal. I have attempted to report the numbers, but the government website where I can do that has not functioned (imagine that). Do NOT give them any money. If you can get them to remove your number, more power to you, and PLEASE post how you did it! I'm ready to change my number again (just changed it about a month ago from moving across country), but that would be SUCH a pain, especially if I'm nearing the end of the ridiculous calls for the person who previously had my cell number.
