Got a call from officer Chris Robinson who said he was from Financial Crime Enforcement. He was very loud and intimidating (at least he was trying to be). Said he was from law enforcement and was calling about a "fraud" that was committed. He said he had an affidavit. Said he was somewhere in California, maybe San Jose or Texas San Antonio. Can't remember. When I questioned him about few things he wanted to verify my address. I suspected he was not legitimate and hung up when he wanted to check my address. Shows as a wireless number on my phone. He should be stopped immediately. Very dangerous activity.
There is a new scam going on. A guy will call you claiming his name is John Anderson and that he is from the Bureu of the Justice Information Department. He will try to get you to verify your personal information such as your name, birthday and social security number. He will claim that you are a criminal and are being charged with fraud. These are totally false claims and he only wants to obtain your information. Do not tell this guy anything. He might try to be very persistant and harass you. I contacted my local police department and they made a note. There is not much else they could do. the number comes up 000 on your caller I.D.
THIS IS A SCAM. Scammers pretend to be law enforcement (police, sheriff, Feds, AG's Office, fake cop agencies with made-up names) and using bought/hacked loan application data to extort money for fictitious crimes or your personal ID.

Don't how these "[***]" (obvious Indian accent) got my numbers but I reported them to the FTC, FBI, BBB and the Attorney General's office of Consumer Affairs. Somehow someway these idiots have to be stopped. I hope that NO ONE ever gets trapped and fooled by these jerks. Should you happen to answer the call, always question their identification and return number. When I called the FTC their advise was to hang up immediately and should they return call again continue to hang up. Like any prey seeking animal that can't catch their meal...they'll give up.
This person has been calling me asking for me for a week. I don't even work at this office and they are harassing and cursing my co-workers. They are very unprofessional.
