Been getting calls from this number for several days and not answering. ID says SUNROCKET as the others have reported. Finally I answered trying to find out the source, it was not SUNROCKET but a person Identified himself as representing "March Of Dimes". I told him I do nothing with calls over the phone then he went into a long winded, uninterruptable monolog about mailing envelopes to my neighbors. Told him NO several times and he finally got the message.
Individual did not state he was employed by March Of Dimes but was calling supporting the group.
Told him to remove my number from his calling list and he said he would. We will see.
Yes, I got this today and the ID says Sunrocket DID and is a VOIP firm based in Virginia started by someone from the old MCI
firm. it is the same number 408-689-1507 but its a spoof not a Cal. number but set to look like it and they can set it to look like that for any location. Here is the Wikipedia report:
SunRocket was a U.S.-based VoIP provider established in early 2004 by Joyce Dorris and Paul Erickson, former MCI executives. Sunrocket was one of several companies to offer an inexpensive telephone service that competed against the traditional phone companies by using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analog) phone line.[1][2]
Dorris and Erickson departed the company in February 2007 along with roughly 30 other employees based at SunRocket’s corporate headquarters in Vienna, Virginia.[3][4] Sunrocket ceased operations on July 3, 2007.[5]
On August 23, 2007, SunRocket filed a lawsuit against Vonage for violating a confidentiality agreement, by using SunRocket's customer lists. Vonage claims to have bought the customer lists from a third party, Paradysz Matera. In the complaint, SunRocket claims that Vonage has exposed them to privacy related lawsuits from customers.[6][7]
In early 2009 the SunRocket.com domain and related trademarks were purchased from the estate of SunRocket, Inc. by a private equity firm in San Diego, California. As of mid-2011 the new firm is providing wireless and VoIP services, online and mobile gaming, on-demand video, and music streaming and downloading under the SunRocket name.[8]
