The company calling is http://www.quorum.net/. These folks are persistent and abuse phone trees. They will do anything they can to talk to a human, but regularly call leaving recorded messages.
Caller said his name was Philip; wanted to speak with "name" who used to be the head of our technology dept. I asked what the call was regarding and he said he was calling on behalf of Darrell Alder who wanted to be transferred to "name". I asked what the call was regarding and of course he didn't know. We get these calls all the time - somebody calling on behalf of somebody else. Always sales calls and we don't let them get through to our top executives.
Caller said his name was Philip. He wanted to speak with (miss pronounced name) and he was calling the wrong number. I asked what the call was regarding, and same thing as other poster said. Philip told me he was "not privy to the information of the call" and he was calling on behalf of Darrell Alder. I asked if he was just cold calling for a sales person. He just restated that he didn't have access to that information. I asked to take a number and call Darrell Alder back, and he said he was calling from an extension and didn't have a number. Totally a sales call, but I don't know what for. Just a waste of time and irritation!
