I received a call from this number a couple of weeks ago--I googled it, and it turned out to be a published number for a local photographer. I called it back & the guy actually picked up. So I asked him why he had called me a few min ago--he said he did not. I said possibly butt dial--he said not possible b/c it wasn't in his pocket & there was nobody who had borrowed his phone, etc. He apologized, assured me he hadn't called me, didn't know who I was. A couple of days later, he actually called me & I picked up--he said after my call, he looked through his history/call list, and it didn't show that his phone had called my number at all on the day I called him to tell him. My conclusion: That his number has been hijacked as a spoofed number for some scam/telemarketer---that he should report to his phone company/do something about it before his personal accounts are hacked, etc. The guy laughed about it & said he's a poor photographer with nothing to steal, who wants to steal his acct info can go ahead, etc. Since I couldn't convince the owner of the number about the seriousness of the issue & to take action against his number being illegally used, there was nothing else I could do to help him or prevent his number (spoofed) to stop calling me. Except to block it.
