The number called me twice after I clicked on a link of an email from an associate who's account had gotten hacked. I received the call a good 30 mins after I clicked the link. I didn't answer and received a message from a computer voice stating that they were from the Department of Treasury and that I needed to call them back because there was an enforcement action executed regarding an account from fraud against my name. I was threatened that if I didn't return the call to this number, I would be forced to appear before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense and be arrested. It states that it hopes to hear from me soon before charges are pressed against me. Once I called back, it was a person with a Philippine accent asking me to verify myself by my phone number. Once, I gave it, he had my name and asked how he could help me. Really? Help me by not calling me. I told him that I had clicked on a link not too long ago and that I believed this to be a scam. He stated that it wasn't and that I was in violation with the Dept of Treasury. I stated that I didn't see anything come in writing and he said it came 3 weeks ago. The government very rarely calls and usually sends documents and letters in writing by mail when they want you to appear in court for any grievances. He told me to not call again and that I would have "everything in front of me tomorrow." I do not trust this. Keep an eye out. I'll report back what happens tomorrow.
