I asked them since they are from windows, let me go on microsoft.com website and do it there, but they said that they need to do it over the phone and asked me for my credit card information.
India accent, gent asked if I had a Windows PC? Yes? "Ok you have a virus that's why I'm calling from Windows... now I need you to go to your PC and press these keys......" for those not aware, Windows does NOT call people. This call is NOT legit. You likely do NOT have a virus and the caller wouldn't know you or your phone number is you DID. So just tell them you know your PC has a virus, you like it that way, and you put it on there yourself... they have to rebuttal for that and hang up on you.
Same conversation started as Bro... told me can not call him ... he had to call me. Asked about whether or not we do banking on our computers... Finally I hung up. Must be a way to make people aware especially the elderly! UGH!
