Most of this debt collector companies never serve anyone. They rely on threats to get payment. You can't be charged with defrauding a company by not paying on a loan. Or by closing a bank account. They are just trying to scare you into paying them something. Don't fall for it.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
This number called me and left a voicemail. Saying something like this "if you are a person of interest to call back to see about a ligation. They will get with the lawfirm to follow up" this is strange and very annoying
Received harassing calls saying breach of contract and litigation and need to resolve now. could not provide anything to me in writing saying what I owe or to whom. Claimed they emailed and contacted me and that I owe $1295 from a loan back in 2012. I said this is the first I've heard of it 3 years later. They claimed to be RMS located in texas a division processing center. scam.
These ppl called my mother and sister stating that my ssn number had been stolen and used in some sort of fraud. I called them back and the girl started rattling off something about a payday loan that I took out online but could not give me the name of the company or verify my acct # from my bank. Hung up on me twice because I was asking to many questions. Finally got someone else who was even worse. Stating what was my problem, I keep calling them over and over... Kept telling me I was irrate and I never raised my voice. She was yelling into the phone, and kept asking if she was on speaker and being recorded. I told her no, and she continued to talk over me when I asked a question. I asked how was I to fix the situation, she said pay them 550 dollars and that would drop the litigation.. LOL I told her well have me served and we can settle it in court so I can ensure everything is processed and I can apologize to the company. She screamed in the phone, "are you stupid who wants to go to court, just pay the money NOW" I told her HELL NO!! And the only one crazy is them for thinking that crap would work on anyone. They are a scam and I have no idea how they got my info. Told me an amount of 550 bucks to an "access processing"? I asked who that was she got mad and hung up. I think they were even mader because I blocked my number and turned off my GPS. They put me on hold in the middle of sentence, and I over heard the Girl saying I blocked my number And could they unblock it. I knew it was fraud from the start. DO NOT VERIFY ANY INFO WITH THESE PPL,
DO NOT GIVE YOUR SSN NUMBER NOTHING. ITS A SCAM. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN...
Similar to all of the above. I called the number back, at first each of the people that answered said they did not call my number, and if I asked what was the name of their company of where they were located (city) they hung up every time. One of the operators said their company name was "RMS Processing" but would not give any more information.
