this guy sends texts on craigslist saying he will buy your car and he wants you to transfer money to a shipper via western union. SCAM!! His number is from texas, the check has a virginia address, the package was sent from indiana, and he wants you to send the transfer to new york.
I got the same message as Steve. This guy responded to my Craigs List posting for a car I'm selling, says his name is "Bob". I respond to all texts like that with this response: YOUR PHONE NUMBER IS BEING ENTERED INTO AN INTERNATIONAL DATABASE FOR FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY AND IS BEING TRACKED!! CEASE AND DESIST ALL ILLEAGAL ACTIVITY OR YOU WILL BE PROSECUTED TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW!! Hope that shakes things up a bit for him!
Well played it got me for a sec when it states your number ect , I was thinking wtf, and read it again twice and caught it ( back hand across my forehead whipping sweat ) ......ha
This guy sent me the same message Do you still have it? ( 1996 Grand Marquis - $1800 ) I am interested. Bob(1/3)
Good.I am interested in it and I'm ready to purchase it from you Asap. I am ok with the price and i perfectly understand the present condition as stated (2/3)in the Ad. I'm ready to proceed with payment via Certified Check. I'm in no rush with you till funds has been cleared in your bank once you deposit it. (3/3)Kindly get back with the Name & Address to Mail the check to you.I will be arranging for a licensed shipper to come for the pick up at your place.(1/3)Thank you. Got the information. The check will be mailed to you Monday and it should probably get to you on or before Wednesday. But i will be mailing a (2/3)check in the amount of $3800 which you will deduct $1800 for the 1996 Grand Marquis and send the remaining $2000 to the shipper for them to pick up the (3/3)1996 Grand Marquis at your place.
Yeah I'm having the same thing! F****rs like this are making Craigslist to much to deal w/ sometimes. I even had someone have movers show up to my house with a so called certified check (fake) to pick up a rabbit hutch. They couldn't even tell me who sent them here. So needless to say I chased them off in a hurry. This dude is saying his name is William and he wants my car. "Do you still have it? ( 1988 Chevy Sprint Turbo - $2000 ) I am interested. William". I'm just gonna mess w him for awhile. Thanks for the heads up everyone.
