I am getting the same calls (409)-299-8784 at my new job. They say the police will come to my work. Got them at my old job and told them I know this is a scam and if they call again I will call the police.
I recieved a call from an "attorney's office" stating a took a payday loan out from a company called American Cash in the amount of $800 something $$. I had no idea what he was talking about, he then told me that I was going to have law enforcement officers to my place of work because I stole money from them and that I was going to be delivered termination paperwork by my employer if I did not take care of this. I asked questions and told him I had no idea what this was, he then started telling me I was lying and that I was trying to deny the facts then hung up on me. TOTAL SCAM!! I had my Lawyer call him and my lawyer pretty much went off on him and told him that he has broken every law in the books, the guy told my lawyer to F*** OFF then hung up on him. My lawyer told me to never call these people again and said if they continue to call to just give them his #. Harrassing people like this need to be STOPPED!!
Got a call from this company and being wise I asked what this is about. Because I needed to know so that I could call my attorney and get some answers.. I tend to call the bar association as well as the Attorney General and find out what this is about.
My mother just got this phone call today. They threatened her with her getting arrested for not paying back a loan she never received. The law office was foster baker. The attorney was named john marshall. When i called for her i asked for john marshall and the man said hold on. The same man picked up and said he was john marshall. He said he was an attorney one minute then all the sudden he was a paralegal.
I got this phone call today, and it scared me. I am still a student, so I'm new at handling situations like this, but I did ask where the "loan" I defaulted on came from, and the person I spoke with didn't give me a name. It was also interesting that the first phone call was place by a Daniel Parker, but when I returned the phone call, I spoke with a woman.
