Same story this morning around 09:30 AM. The FTC will not take any action without a "significant" number of complaints. They will not say what makes a "significant" number of complaints. I suggest you do the following:
(1) file a complaint at
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2
(2) email or snailmail your congress-persons (Representatives and Senators) about the FTC's failure to enforce the Do-Not-Call list. Mention Donald S. Clark, Secretary of the Commission. This is the guy whose name appears on correspondence claiming they don't have enough complaints. (If you have a Republican, forget this step, their not interested in our problems or interested in accomplishing anything useful).
(3) call the FTC, Donald S. Clark, Secretary of the Commission at 1-202-326-2514.
Since there isn't many posts I assume this is a new number they are calling from. They are trying to push mortgage reduction, I called back and was promptly disconnected.
I received a call from this number on my cell phone. I don't have a mortgage to reduce, so I know that they are just randomly dialling without checking the "Do Not Call" list, which I have my number. I am getting quite irritated and frustrated that they keep calling. I guess this is another number to ignore.
Didn't hear the phone when it rang, just saw the number for a missed call. Didn't recognize the number, and no message was left, so I looked it up and found this. My number is unlisted an on the Do Not Call List. Are there any ways to enforce that?
Same deal here. My phone did not ring and I called back and got the only option of "dial 1 if you wish to be placed on our 'do not call list,'" which just validates that you have a working number and invites even more calls. My suggestion to resist the temptation to hit the 1 and call the FCC. I know that is a pain but it is the only way to get these guys to stop. Believe me , if I could find them I could stop at least two or there and get some satisfaction, but the 410 area code is prob just a node and is again misleading...very frustrating!
