Was a missed call on my cell phone. Usually don't respond if I don't know the number but it said it was from Pikesville, MD and I was meeting a friend from Pikesville the next day, so thought this might be my friend at different number. When you call back it says this number is not in service.
With all the technology the phone companies have , you mean they can't permanently block or disable a phone number that's 'not in service' from being used??
1-12-2016. 6pm. Our household usually doesn't answer unknowns, but my very senior relative did just that. We were expecting an important local call from a number with the same first six digits (coincidence!). Like the other person, a return call yielded a recording stating that it was "not in service". Definitely a suspicious scammer! Advise.you NOT TO ANSWER!!!
Beware of this nuisance caller; may be operating under two (or more) similar numbers from Pikesville, Maryland (a wealthy suburb of Baltimore). 410-415-3677 and 3682.
Scammers now also using (410) 415-3681. They have demanded large donations for local firefighter
stations. If you refuse, they try to negotiate for a lesser amount.
