I have followed up with Purple Heart. Indeed, caller ID "410-486-1402, Louise Robbins" is affiliated with the "Purple Heart". Her calling on behalf of "Purple Heart" to seek contributions is legitimate and not a scam. I am so happy that I called and spoke with "Purple Heart" and especially happy that my contribution went to "Purple Heart" as intended.

I receive calls from this number, normally in the evening, from an older sounding woman. She asks for my wife and hangs up without leaving a message, if she is not here.
I received calls from this number normally in the evening as another person has reported from an older sounding woman. She identified herself as calling from the "Purple Heart" and asked me to donate clothing. She told me where to leave the box so that the driver could easily see it and that a receipt would be left in my door. Wanting to donate to "Purple Heart", in support of those men and women who have bravely served our country, I said yes, and left two boxes of clothing on my front porch for pickup.
When I came home from work the two boxes of clothing were gone, but no receipt. When I called Louise Robbins to tell her no receipt was left, I only get a busy signal, when "special ring" call me back to say the line is free, I pick up the phone and the next message is the line is no longer free and this repeatedly happened until I finally gave up in trying to reach Louise Robbins (name shown on my caller id). By looking up this number on the internet, I found that this is probably a "scam" and has nothing to do with "Puple Heart", since it has been reported by another person with the same (vocal description) that fit the lady that called me. The sad thing is I would have helped anyone in need, even if they were not from the Purple Heart. Whoever this is should be locked up for using the name of the "Purple Heart" to run a scam.

I have had run-ins with Ms. Robbins. She will call several times in one evening (I see the caller id and don't answer), usually during dinner time. I politely (and respectfully) asked her once to stop calling repeatedly if no one answers and she got surprisingly belligerent with me, telling me it is because nobody answers. This really pissed me off so I told her to stop calling and take us off her calling list. She hung up on me. That was about four months ago and she still calls.
If I didn't have respect for the elderly I would cuss her out. I guess I have to call PH and complain.
