Probably a telemarketer...only rang 2-3 rings, left no message, and came through WAY earlier than it should. This number appears based in MD, the Eastern time zone, but my number is way out west, so the call came through before school started.

Same as Sheldon above...unfamiliar number + no message left = unimportant call and is now permanently blocked.
BTW: I'm kinda tired of the old excuse that the phone companies can't do anything about these annoying calls because the technology is too far advanced. Well, who helped create that technology?? And, who profits off of that technology?? You & me? No way. It should be mandated that the telecom conglomerates, e.g., Verizon, AT&T, etc (who by the way make hundreds of millions of dollars off of us each and every year) research and develop effective call blocking technologies and then provide that technology to their paying customers free-of-charge. And then continue to research and develop call blocking technology as long as it takes to put an end to these scammers. And one last thought...you know the DNC legislation is a joke when the thieves who created it, A.K.A., politicians, exempted themselves from it because how could we not want to listen to their blathering on about how wonderful they are and what a great job they're doing and, oh, could you sent me $50 or $100 to help my cause?? Yeah, right...not a chance!!
