This appears to be some sort of new way avoid being able to identify the number, and therefore the caller. I'm listing this under the 410 area code since I live within this area code. But this is the second call within the past couple of weeks where the first digit of the area code has been replaced with the # sign. In other words, the number came across on my caller ID as #10-766-6707. The other number to do this was #10-761-1764, but a few hours before that one came through, I got a call from 410-761-1764 which is listed to a carol and bill Parker, whom I've never heard of. The call today from #10-766-6707 was however blocked by my call blocker which blocks 100% of robocalls. Regardless of what they display on CID, they can't defeat the robocall abilities of my call blocker. The scams just never seem to end.
