This number and message has been calling for weeks. I've tried calling back and the number doesn't work. "An informative call about your PECO service." How can I make it stop?
This is a totally INVALID number. If the phone exchange (the middle three) begins with a "0" or "1", IT IS A FAKED NUMBER. And from what I've been told, it is illegal to fake the Caller ID which is exactly what this group is doing. It's done so you cannot trace them online at all, and obviously there is no way you can call back it back since the number DOESN'T EXIST. Whoever is making these calls are not a telemarketer. They are scam artists trying to trick people by trying to get account information. I don't have a PECO account, I don't have an Edison or Con Edison account, and I have absolutely no account of any sort anywhere on the West Coast.
This is total harassment. I've talked with my state representative several weeks ago and he turned all of my research on the 80 different calls from 39 different "numbers" -- half being these invalid numbers -- over to our state attorney general office, and the calls basically quit for about 10 days. They are now starting back up with new "numbers" again. I'll talk with my state rep at the Senior Fair tomorrow and see if I can send my new info to the AG's office again.
