This is a BOGUS phone number. No phone exchange starts with a "1". The telemarketer is using this to get around "anonymous" caller id blocks.
They asked me if I wanted to lower my electric rates. When I asked for the company name they abruptly hung up on me. Any "company" that calls people on the do not call list and avoids identifying themselves are probably crooks. BUYER BEWARE. I wouldn't give these people ANY personal information. Who knows what they are REALLY up to!
I have been getting unwanted calls from someone about reducing my electric bill. Each time the caller ID says PENNSYLVAN CaALL I did wait for a rep and he said his name was "Paul" he asked what my account number for my DLCo electric bill. I asked what number he was calling from and he immediately hung up.
I get a call almost everyday from that number and others. The thing that bothers me is my phone light was flashing saying "in use" long time after the call. Had to hit the End to get rid of the "in use" This number needs investigated.
I got two calls within ten minutes of each other from this number a short while ago. This is the *10TH* different number that I've gotten a call from since July 3rd and the 14th call. I've quit answering these calls about five numbers backi since the ones I did answer had all been recorded messages. And no messages were ever left. The other numbers (in the 412 area code) were 503-3235, 503-8448, 213-5032, 503-6622, 144-4453, 078-5677, 078-6534, and 177-8600. I also got one from 800-196-8575. I was able to find who served the 503s, and 213, but the other ones, including the 800 #, are invalid.
I'll be reporting once again to DNC and will be updating the letter I sent to Harrisburg (the State AG's office) with the additional two numbers and info I had gotten this week.
