got a call today from this number, dodn't leave a message and I don't have(or never have had) cigna so not sure why they would be calling me...caller id said as name - "your healthplan"
Silence when I answered the phone. Of course, I was silent, too, but whoever dialed never said a word. I suspect it's a machine dialing the number, and waits for a voice before connecting their operator to the line.
I am over 65, and insured as a dependent on my wife's employer's policy. CIGNA is the carrier, and I was surprised to learn that WellAware is actually a subsidiary of CIGNA. If CIGNA asked my advice, I would tell them to investigate these folks. While they do offer some good advice, I would call them "cherry pickers", because they never call my wife who has high blood pressure and numerous referrals but they call me. My weight is a fraction of a pound over their desired limit, and I am on medication to control my cholesterol level, so they can make a case for me, but why do they ignore the person who really needs them? Could it be they are fishing for the best outcomes? They don't appear to be interested in helping CIGNA.
This is a company that provides services for Health Plans like Cigna and some others. (I asked the nurse who they were)I talk to the nurse all the time and they have really helped me learn about my diabetes but i think they talk about other stuff too. She told me the calls were a BENEFIT of my health insurance. I checked and they keep the info confidential. They are trying to keep health care costs down in this country - who wouldn't think that was a good thing? Sometimes there is no one there if I don't pick up right away, but she said they use something that automatically dials the number and if you are not there it doesn't always leave a message.She said if you don't want the call to just tell them and they will stop - but I like I said they really helped me a lot.
