My voicemail identified the number from which a message was left. The number was 412-253-0630. The message was garbled and the volume was so low I could not hear anything that was said. I thought it might be important, so I called the number. There I got a message that the voicemail box was full and no message could be left. So I googled the number and found that others have had annoying calls from this number.
I answered this call thinking it was someone I knew. But it was a woman who called and she asked for me. Clearly she didn't know me or she would have recognized my voice. So I asked why she was calling. She suddenly became garbled, but it was clear she was calling on behalf of a union, possibly the SEIU and was upset with Arlen Specter: http://www.seiu.org/2009/03/arlen-specter-dont-cave-to-big-business.php
Since I couldn't make out what she was saying, I asked for a call back number. She said she was unable to accept any phone calls, so it was impossible to call her back. When I explained that I couldn't take the call without a call back number, she quickly hung up on me.
I think this is related to Alren Spectre's recent decision to vote against a pro union organizing bill.
Or maybe it's just to protest Alren's recent Polish Joke snafu! http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/specter_polish_joke/2008/12/13/161502.html
Either way while I'll not support Arlen if he votes agains this bill, I'll not take any more of these phone calls.
