They started calling 3/27/13, called once every day since, until today, they called twice within 3 minutes. They leave a robo message...very animated, about how the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association both urge seniors to have medical alert devices for emergencies. They call themselves "Senior Medical Advisory." They say they can give you the equipment for free. DO NOT RESPOND. There is no such entity, they are phishing for your information, name, address, bank and or credit card info. If you want Medic-Alert-type coverage, find it locally in the Yellow Pages. At best, they will "give" you the info for free, and then sock it to you with monthly charges. Sorta like the diabetic blood monitor bums who "give" you the monitor then charge you outrageous prices for the lancets.

SCAM ALERT!!!!
It seems there is yet another suspicious-sounding telephone solicitation which
may be an attempt to elicit personal and financial information from people. This
one was brought to our attention by Natick Fire Chief, James Sheridan.
According to the Chief the script for the phone call goes like this:
For Medical Emergencies, Fires, Burglaries or even a Simple Fall, the American Heart
Association and the American Diabetes Foundation are urging all senior citizens to get
a personal life saving emergency alert system for their home. For the first time the
Senior Medical Advisory is providing senior citizens with this life saving emergency
medical alert equipment at no charge to seniors. Press 1 now to find out how with just 1
push of a button you could have a live certified Emergency Medical Technician on the
line to help you in just seconds. Again press 1 now and you will never have to feel
helpless, worried or by yourself in an emergency situation. Press 5 now to be eliminated
from our senior benefits calling list.
There are many reputable companies providing personal emergency response systems,
but this does not appear to be one of them. As far as we have been able to determine
there is no organization called the Senior Medical Advisory. This may be another
attempt to get information such as social security numbers or bank account numbers
from people. Natick Human Services & Council on Aging has information about
personal emergency response system companies if you or family members are
interested in such a system. Also, Natick fire and emergency personnel can be reached
in an emergency by dialing 9-1-1.
Remember: Do not give out any personal or financial information to anyone
over the phone on a call you did not initiate yourself.
