I received a call from this number on my cell phone this afternoon, and I did not answer, as there was no caller ID. I just dialed the number and got a recording asking if I would like to be placed on a "do not call list" for this specific number. It said press 1, so I did.
These scamming jackholes keep calling from different numbers trying to convince me that I'm "required" to purchase additional warranty on my car since mine has run out. I'd love to know how the hell they got my cell phone number! They have my name and car info, year, make, model, etc. They continually ask me why I have refused to renew or purchase additional coverage and I keep telling them "Because I don't want to! And I'm not required to! Now leave me the F$*% alone and lose my number!" They quickly say sorry and immediately hang up.
Luckily, I have an iPhone and can easily block the number from ever calling. So if they want to keep calling me, the least they'll have to do is keep coming up with new numbers to call from. I say we ALL start calling their number non-stop when we have free time and messing with them and see how THEY like it!
By the way, if you call the number back, they have a "do not call list" option you can select and it claims they'll remove you from their calling list within 48 business hours. Highly doubt that, but it's worth a shot. And as always, there's no company name on the voicemail. Total scam...
Just got a call from this number. I usually don't answer calls I don't recognize but it was a local area code and such, so I picked up this time. I said "hello" then heard silence for a few seconds then a computerized voice said "goodbye" and hung up. I suppose now that they know my numbers good they probably won't leave me the hell alone.
