This is a scam. The police allow this telemarketing group to solicit in their name. Only about 10% gets to the police and 90% into the pockets of the telemarketer. The police chiefs don't worry about the low percentage because they have to do nothing and get the 10%...which is free to them. We NEVER answer the phone anymore without knowing who is calling (family, friends, doctor's office, etc.). We have the ringer turned down so that we can tolerate the constant ringing. We tell anyone who wants to call to leave a message and once a day check to see if any calls need to be answered. This is a real annoyance and one of the reasons I have phone companies on my list of least favored organizations. They collect the money for the robo calls and could care less. Also the politicians who listened to the lobbyists who pushed to be exempt from the "do not call registry", should have to live in retirement with a phone that rings constantly. It is a happy thought to think of such justice.
We got a call again from this number today at 3:58. The caller ID was still CHARITY, and it was again blocked by our call blocker. Please see my posting of April 11, 2015. This is the seventh time in two years that they have called. They need to upgrade their robo calling software to eliminate numbers which block them.
