Call came from this number on my husband's cell phone yesterday. I answered it against my gut feeling since he's been getting calls from different doctors lately and wanted to relay any messages on. But when the automated voice said "as per the state Department of Motor Vehicles, you need to have car insurance . . .", I hung up immediately and prayed that he wasn't going to started getting a ton of scam calls like we did with the electric scams last summer.
Today, I recognized the same number when my phone rang. Hit the side button to ignore the call. No VM left.
Last year, posters on another site said calls from this number claimed to be from Central Blood Bank with a couple posting the calls were from the Red Cross about donations.
Folks, this is NOT a telemarketing call. These are scam calls! Do not answer it, and do not call the number back. The callers don't care if we're on DNC since they're not telemarketers, and their system is cold calling every number in sequence to find an active number that's being answered by an actual person.
