This womn called me and said her name was Myra Reid. Said the sheriff's are coming to my house to execute a warrant for my arrest because of a pay day loan I took out. She said to call her back at some toll free number. This seems sketchy and I've never taken out a payday loan. WHat do i do?
Do nothing. Its a scam. Payday loan extortion attempt.
You don't get a head's up on being served, you're served without warning by a process server or sheriff's deputy.
Should you get another call, demand that you be sent by US mail, proof that you owe the debt. Email and fax are no good. If you are told that proof cannot be mailed, then you know from that point that it's definitely a scam.
