I received this phone call from 2 men with east Indian accents. 412-927-4779, claiming they were from the U.S. govt. They said that I was entitled to a $8300. grant because I had good credit and that I had never filed bankruptcy. They said that I would never have to pay the money back. I knew that it was a scam, so I played along and listened to their "sales pitch". They said that all I had to do was to pay $299.00 and that a cashier's check would then be sent Fed-X, 30 minutes later. They said that I had to pay $4.95 for what was described as a "green dot money pack". The initial call said "out of the area", but later when I pressed them for a phone number they gave me the 412-927-4779 number which they said I had to call back to speak with ". Ronnie Calvin". The other names used were Allen Walker and Paul Gilbert
I have received the same calls I have emptied my bank account and now overdrawn it and they are asking for more money all through the green dot card did anyone REALLY recieve money from them and is there a government agency who could verify this???
