Called cell phone. Answered the call, asking for "Police Insurance Donations". Wanted a donation over the phone. Told him to send something in the mail and he said he would do that once I give verbal commitment. I told him I wasn't comfortable doing that over the phone and he said once I commit to a dollar amount, he would send the corresponding envelope with the dollar amount I committed to.
I thought it was odd that I got this call on my cell first of all and the person sounded confused and they seemed like they didn't know who they were calling and secondly I'm at work, and thirdly there is no way I would give out any information to a random cell call stranger even for a legit cause. I had know way to know who this was. just an odd way to raise money and an organization I was unfamiliar with. I contribute to charities online that I've research or know but certainly not to a random voice. was he going to ask me for a credit card? didn't even ask if I was at work or if I could talk. and didn't sound like he even knew what to say at first and was a little rude but didn't push it. I don't think they should conduct business this way even for a good cause. rethink it.
