They hung up when I answered. Googled it and read it was a telemarketing/spam call. Dialed back to see what they said on the other end but the call wouldn't go through.
Caller claimed my National Grid rate was going to be discounted, and they wanted me to verify information. I refused, and told them if they wanted to lower my rate, to just go ahead and do so. She said I needed to sign up for the discount. I told her I was not going to do that and hung up. I think this is a scam.
Got the call this AM and let it go to ans. machine as this could have been a 'legit' call as this is our own area code. Five rings; machine picked up: Nothing. A sign of a robodialer. We don't even HAVE "National Grid" here; its WMECO (Western Mass Electric Company.) We've gotten things in the mail about switching providers but we opted out as they don't really save anything in the long run, by our research.
We used to almost never get 413 scam calls; always were other area codes; that's how we knew it was spam. Now, unfortunately, they seem to be increasing. Another one to BLOCK and REPORT.
