Received a call today from 413-497-4480. Supposed to be the VFW. Four calls recently. I finally answered because with cell phones I cannot keep the numbers straight. They wanted $20 and did not like that I said "send me something in the mail" They really wanted a credit card. Also, knew me by name and I have an unpublished number. Will post again if anything shows up in the mail. Further investigation to follow.
Just got a call from the same 413 # but I didn't answer it. We must be on some sort of potential "sucker" list or something. A couple of weeks ago I got a call (unkown #) from a guy named Jimmy who was clearly in India saying he was with A nyc law firm and that I had been scammed in the past and I was entitled to lots of money if I'd just give him my checking account # he'd put the money right in it for me. I played around with Jimmy until he hung up on me. Did your caller have an Indian accent?
called left no message this phone number keeps calling about 2 times a month. With other calls I say 'service' which confuses most people until they start talking I say 'I am a service for this number you can not get the person who owns the line due to I am payed to answer and screen calls due to a potential investigation.' that usually makes them take me off thier list etc.
I keep getting calls from this person or persons from this exact number almost every day. i recently moved so I signed up for the "do not call" list again and it should be taking effect soon. I can't wait. (413)497-4480 and (800)399-5166 call me almost every day but never say anything if I pick up. I'm just not gonna hold back anymore; I'm gonna let them have it with every vulgarity I can conjure up from my youth in South Boston the next time they call me!
