I have pressed 9 as suggested to 'stop calls' and yet the calls keep coming twice a week or so. This is the second time I have reported this number. They are selling a "personal medical alert" system. Additionally, pressing 1 to purchase a PMA system terminates the call.
Pls stop calling my cell phone and stop using different number to contact me when I block one number you use another number. You can stop as I do not want anything from you. If you choose not to stop, that's okay as it's a waste of your time as 99% of the time I do not answer.....so keep doing it if you have time to wast.
"THINKING about committing a crime is NOT a crime."
Conspiracy to commit a crime is indeed a criminal act. For example, you don't actually have to shoot someone to be charged with "conspiracy to commit murder."
The DNC list works only with legitimate firms, not with scammers like these.
These calls may originate anywhere in the world and be routed via the internet, so it is extremely difficult for the FCC to stop them. Also, the numbers are spoofed, so they can't be traced back to their actual point of origin.
The DNC list works only with legitimate firms, not with scammers like these. The Caller ID is spoofed so there is no easy way to trace the call back to the real point of origin.
Would you blame the USPS if you received ads from people who lied on their return addresses?
"They take the DoNotCall list as their call list."
No, they don't.
The way the DNC works is that LEGITIMATE telemarketers send their call lists to the FCC where they are scrubbed of numbers that are on the DNC. The FCC does not distribute the actual DNC list.
Once a number gets on a scammer list there is no way to get it off. Also, scammers will just start calling a block of numbers, so they don't even have to get your number from anywhere, they are just guessing.
EVERYONE is getting more of these calls, so it is coincidental that you are getting more of them now after signing up for the DNC list.
