Coincidence??? Received call within 15 minutes of logging off Social Security Administration web site where my fone # is recorded in secure area. I viewed a page listing health care insurance options.
No response upon answer. Call center personel could be heard in the background. I'm on do not call list which clearly hasn't helped and I've said to a previous rep to remove my number from the list. At what point do you get a restraining order?
Fight back by letting your phone ring if you're able to. Numbers with any kind of answer are more likely to be called than ones that only ring. That list works for honest businesses only, not con artists and swindlers. Don't expect them to care about any laws or lists.
Unfortunately, Juliet, the DNC list is ignored by the scammers and criminals. Legitimate businesses abide by its regulations. Take control and invest in a call blocker for your land line or call blocking app for your phone. Here is the 800 notes forum on these devices.

My call blocker made a tremendous difference. I have mine set to accept calls only on my call list. It keeps a log of all calls and I can check on unknown calls on sites such as this. Sometimes I call back after blocking my own number, determine who is the caller, and report it on 800notes. Take control. Don't let the scammers get to you. ;-)
